Certification and CEUs

Certification versus CEUs

Some of our online courses prepare students for certification and some provide continuing education. The certification courses are usually more than 32 hours of effort or 32 continuing education units (CEUs). Continuing education courses require 4, 8, or 16 CEUs or hours of effort.

Third-Party Certifications

Third-party certifiers like BPI, RESNET, and NATE offer valuable certifications. Certifications require passing a proprietary knowledge exam. Some certifications also require a field exam. Some energy programs require or recommend these certifications. Saturn’s online learning prepares your employees for the certification exams, both knowledge and field.

Self Certification: Badges

Badges are web-enabled credentials. Moodle can manage badges awarded to your students. Badges contain meta-data such as CEUs, test scores, and achievements. Badges can vary in level: gold, silver, bronze, and in topic: Energy Auditing, HVAC, Building Envelope, for example. Badges build students' digital resumes. With skillful badge design, we can motivate your students to climb a ladder of education and achievement.
