This demonstration course provides a sample week of resources from our Building Analyst and HERS Rater course, which is based upon a broad building science curriculum. It presents a solid scientific foundation upon which inspectors and auditors can build an accurate understanding of modern buildings. Each topic includes an overview of the technology, examples of typical installations and their defects, procedures for performing audits, and guidelines for analyzing potential retrofits. If you plan to take an open-book certification exam such as for RESNET (the BPI exam is closed-book) Residential Energy includes a PDF of the book on a compact disc.- This unit is available only to previous students of Saturn Online's Building Analyst and HERS Rater course. The materials delivered are the same as those in the BA/HERS Rater course. Enrollment requires a key which may be obtained after confirmation of previous enrollment by contacting the registrar.
Many students find it useful to review these materials after the course has been completed in preparation for their BPI Building Analyst or RESNET National HERS Rater exams. (Because the HERS Rater Exam is open book and administred online, you may be able to access this area while taking the exam. Though we offer no guarantee of this.)
This area is not mentored or guided by an instructor. If you have questions, or wish to participate in discussions on these and other topics, please visit our public forum.
You will have access to the resources for three months from the time of your first paid access. If you would like to renew after that period has expired, simply re-enroll in this course at the end of the three month period.
